The Challenge: Managing Membership Plans at Scale

Catalyst Dental Allies is a growing DSO based in Oklahoma with 46 locations, each maintaining its own brand, culture, and patient relationships.

VP of Growth at Catalyst, Brandi Williams, wanted to preserve that unique “private practice feel” while providing the benefits of a large group. But as their membership plans grew, managing consistency, engagement, and training across dozens of offices became a challenge.

“We’d used another platform before DentalHQ,” Brandi explained. “At the time, we had about 120 members. The platform worked, but it didn’t give our teams the visibility, support, or patient-facing tools we needed to really make it successful.”

“The DSO dashboard is one of my favorite features,” Brandi noted. “I can easily see which offices are thriving and who might need extra help, all without logging into 46 separate accounts.”

The Results: 5x Membership Growth in One Year

In less than a year, Catalyst grew its membership base from 121 to more than 660 members, a fivefold increase.

That growth came from a combination of consistent training, supportive accountability, and team buy-in. “Before DentalHQ, no one really talked about membership plans,” Brandi said. “Now, it’s part of who we are; it’s the Catalyst way.”

The results went beyond membership growth. Catalyst saw an overall increase in production and collections, with more patients receiving care thanks to affordable membership options.

“At the end of the day, the goal is to take care of people,” Brandi explained. “I know our patients are getting more care because we have this service to offer them.”

Even seasoned team members saw success with the platform. “One office manager who’s been with her practice for 30 years added 11 new members in two weeks after training and turning on the integration,” said Brandi. “She just started showing patients treatment plans and the savings, and it clicked.”

The Futue: Growth, Collaboration, and Confidence

With 46 offices using DentalHQ, Catalyst continues to expand while maintaining the close-knit feel of independent practices.

Brandi is focused on continued growth and team empowerment. “I set a personal goal to increase membership plans by 15% this quarter,” she said. “We’re already at 93% of that goal, and we still have time left.”
